Major leader in education reform=Horace mann

Horace Mann went through very poor schools when he was little and wanted to reform the education system so kids could be more educated.

He said that if we don't improve the education of the children then the society will be destroyed like it was before.

In 1837, he was the first secretary of the Massachusetts board of education. He created teachers training programs and instituted curriculum reforms.
