Education Reform
At the time of the 1800s the conditions of education were different across the regions. Also Classrooms were not divided by age so older and younger students were combined in one class
In 1834, Pennsylvania made a tax-supported school system.
Good tax payers got very angry and did not want to help pay for schools because their children were not going to go there.
Eventually, 42 percent of the children of Pennsylvania went to public schools.
Also, German immigrants got angry because they thought their children would forget how to speak German.
