The Second Great Awakening
The Second Great Awakening was a religious movement in the United States after 1790. Some of the people involved in this awakening were Charles Finney and his buddies.
Preachers rejected the 18th-century belief that someone's salvation or damnation was determined by God.
In this new discovery, they urged that people be good and charitable to make life better for themselves in the world and society.
The Catholic Churches would split up and preachers would travel and preach the religion to crowds over up to 20,000 people.
