Education For Women
Women didn't have many educational opportunities until the 1820s. People argued that as long as women knew how to take care of their family and their house then they would be fine.
Emma Willard was the first to open a girls school and it soon prospered and became an incredible school. Slowly but surely, schools were taking girls in and other schools were being invented for girls.
African American women had a harder time trying to get an education. After they were being considered for different schools, the whole town erupted in anger and opposed this option and closed down any African American school.
