Enzyme Acitivy
In chemical reactions, activation energy is needed to prime the reaction. When there is not enough activation energy, enzymes can be used to lower the amount of activation energy needed to start reactions while till staying at normal body temperature. Enzymes first have their active sites bind with the substance on which it acts. These substances are called substrates. The substrates cause the active site to change shape so that the substrate and active site fit together perfectly. Then the enzyme-substrate form the product by undergoing internal rearrangements. Finally, the enzyme releases the product of the reaction. This shows the enzyme as a catalytic role in the reaction.
