The French and Indian War
The French and Indian War, also known as the Seven Years War, was fought between 1756 and 1763.
It ended after the Treaty of Paris was signed by Spain, France, and England, and agreed upon by Portugal. This treaty said that Spain and France would give up their claims on land north and east of the Mississippi River.
This war, as all wars, was very expensive financially. At the end of the war, England's national debt had reached a staggering 122 million pounds.
