First Continental Congress
What was it?
The First Continental Congress met in 1774. It consisted of elected representatives from every English colony except Georgia. This group formed a political body to govern the colonies and discussed things such as whether to separate from England or not. Members in attendance included men such as John Adams and Patrick Henry.
