Re-surfacing Testing

Laboratory Process Guide 2023

RE-SURFACING TESTING

Dynasolve

750 or 760 (HTC)

Equipment: Chemical, beaker, hotplate

Destructive?: Yes

Duration: PR9 1hr – AS6081 1hr

Description: The device is submerged in Dynasolve 750 or 760 which is heated to a temperature of 105°c for 45 minutes. As with the NMP testing, the device is then removed from the beaker and swiped with a cotton bud to determine the removal of the topside surface.

Dynasolve is more aggressive than NMP so it is expected to see more removal on this test than the previous one. Again the same grading is applied (No/Light/Medium/Heavy) but this time if we observe Medium or Heavy removal the sample is then moved to SEM/EDS testing for a more in-depth analysis of the surface condition and elements.
