French Twist Procedure
08 Updos: French Twist, Chignon, Draping
✔Place next pin so bottom crosses tip of previous pin & 2 pins slightlycriss-crossed but nearly vertical. Hold them in place as w/previous pin.
✔️Continue placing bobby pins upwards to crown in interlocking pattern. @ crown, place 1 pin in reverse (downward-facing) direction to lock row of pins in place. If hair @ nape is loose, put pin over 1st 1 @ nape as reinforcement.
✔️Smooth remaining hair on left of the row of pins. Use paddle brush & comb to prepare it for placing in twist. Important: completely smooth & prepare hair before pinning in place. Once pinned & sprayed = difficult to rearrange.
✔️️Direct hair slightly upward & lightly apply hair spray.
✔️Transfer hair to right hand. Hold @ about middle of its length, straight out toward you w/fingers of right hand pointed down & toward nape.
✔️Grasp ends of hair w/left hand & wrap them into a circle. Hold circle w/right hand's thumb & index finger, w/palm facing toward you.
✔️Turn hair so palm is toward head, & continue to hold hair w/thumb & finger as you twist hair into a cone shape against head. The twist of hair rests slightly over line of pins.
