Half-Round Styling Technique
09 Half Round Brush (Denman)/Paddle Brush Styling
✔️Section 80-90% dry hair either in a center part or in a side part to the crown and then continue down the center to the nape.
✔️Use brush to subsection parallel to perimeter, following the sectioning used in the haircut. Isolate the remaining hair.
✔️Stand to the left of the area that you are styling.
✔️Place the brush with the pins closest to the head resting at the part.
✔️Using your wrist only, rotate brush approx 180° until pins on opposite side of brush are @part.
✔️Rotate brush back again, accumulating hair in the pins across pad of brush. The brush should now be facing directly up. This will “lock” hair in brush.
✔️Draw brush down toward the end of the hair, following w/blow dryer & directing air down hair shaft. Keep dryer & brush moving all time.
✔️Drop hair ends out of brush before they become dry.
✔️Repeat process on one side & then other for remaining panels in section.
✔️Bevel: Dry panel directly in front of you.
✔️Start in middle panel again, bring brush under hair w/pins facing up & hair on pad of brush.
✔️Elevate the hair w/brush to approximately 45°, & draw brush down hair shaft, to 0° as you approach the ends.
✔️Rotate brush several times, while directing air down from above.
