Horizontal Fingerwaving Process
11 Fingerwaving
Form the First Wave:
✔️Wet hair & apply enough setting lotion to be evenly distributed throughout hair. Pay special attention to application @ scalp.
✔️Apply a side part. Side with the most hair is called the “heavy side.”
✔️Distribute hair evenly through crown & entire head, hair should be positioned as it will be when style is completed.
✔️Place left middle finger of subordinate hand on head above where ridge is to be formed (#1).
✔️Place lg teeth of comb approx 1/4"below finger where ridge is to be. Make sure teeth are touching scalp & comb is perpendicular to scalp.
✔️Draw comb approx 1” toward hairline (for open end of wave). Comb should be parallel to finger & perpendicular to scalp.
✔️Lay comb down flat against head.
✔️Place forefinger on top of comb beneath ridge to protect ridge. Ridge is now between forefinger & middle.
▪️Note: Do not pinch ridge between fingers or push up into ridge w/teeth of comb.
✔️While still holding hair in place, rotate comb & comb down thru ends until all hair below ridge is smooth. You can switch to fine teeth for more control.
