Lysosomes- spherical membranous organelles containing digestive enzymes, and are large and abundant in the cells that dispose of invading bacteria and cell debris. Their enzymes can digest almost all kinds of biological molecules, therefore they provide sites where digestion can proceed safely within a cell. They digest particles taken in by endocytosis, degrad worn out of nonfunctional organelles, perform metabolic functions, such as glycogen breakdown and release, breaking down non useful tissues, and breaking down bone to release calcium into the blood. 


Peroxisomes- membranous sacs containing a variety of powerful enzymes, such as oxidases and catalyses. oxidases use molecular oxygen to detoxify harmful substances, but their most important function is to neutralize dangerous free radicals, which are highly reactive chemicals with unpaired electrons that can scramble the structure of biological molecules. Numerous in liver and kidney cells, very active in detoxification.
