Negative and Positive Feedback
Negative feedback- in these systems, the output shuts off the original stimulus or reduces its intensity, which causes the variable to change in a direction opposite to that of the initial change. This returns it back to its ideal value. The goal of negative feedback mechanisms is to prevent sudden severe changes within the body.
positive feedback- in these systems, the result or response enhances the original stimulus so that the activity or output is accelerated. The change that occurs proceeds in the same direction as the initial disturbance, causing the variable to deviate further and further from its original value or range. Usually control infrequent events that don't require continuous adjustments. Often referred to as cascades
