Enzyme Mechanics
Enzymes are proteins that work as catalysts to help speed up chemical reactions. They do this by lowering the activation energy which is the amount of energy needed to start the reaction.
First the enzyme binds with the substance, or substrate. Then the enzyme and substrate from the product from internal rearrangements. Finally, the enzyme releases the product.
