Body Cavities
The major body cavities are the dorsal body cavity and the ventral body cavity.
The dorsal body cavity's subdivisions are the cranial cavity and vertebral cavity.
The cranial cavity contains the brain and the vertebral cavity contains the spinal cord
The ventral body cavity's subdivisions are the thoracic cavity, and the abdominopelvic cavity.
The thoracic cavity is further divided into two pleural cavities, which each contain a lung, and the mediastinum cavity, within which is the pericardial cavity that contains the heart.
The abdominopelvic cavity is split into the abdominal cavity, which contains digestive viscera, and the pelvic cavity, which contains the bladder, reproductive organs, and rectum
