5. In the fifth chapter, Jonas's family share their dreams, for if they don't, they will get punished. Lily had a dream where she broke the rules and Jonas's mother had a dream about the child with two strikes. Jonas's father did not have a dream. When it was Jonas's turn, he shared that unlike the usual, he had a dream. He dreamt that he at the house of the old with his crush, Fiona. He was talking with Fiona and was trying to convince her to get into a tub. She kept on laughing and saying no, but Jonas kept on asking for her to do it. Jonas's mother says that those felling are called the Stirrings. JOnas's mother gives him pills to make the stirrings go away. Jonas takes them and on his way to school, the stirrings go away.
