In the twentieth chapter, Jonas stays the night with the giver. He flicks the speaker on and instructs to notify the new receiver's family that he will spend the night. During the night, Jonas and the Giver make a plan to escape and make the community suffer for sameness. Jonas begs the Giver to come with him but he insists that he stays to help the community once they receive the memories. When it was Rosemary, they hd a hard time as well. They reviewed the very dangerous plan. The Giver then explaains that instead of seeing beyond with colors, he heard beyond with music. He promised to give Jonas music before he left but Jonas wanted him to keep the music for himself.
