9. In the ninth chapter, It starts off with all of the twelves heading home from the ceremony. Jonas then asks Asher to ride home with him. "Sure", Asher replies back. But Jonas feels a type of hesitation in his friend. They then congratulate each other in their given assignments. All of the other twelves are also on their way home with their assignment folders on their bike containers. "Congratulations Asher someone yelled, them again with hesitation, they congratulated Jonas. Jonas knew that something was wrong. When he got home, his parents told him they were very proud. They said it was the most important job in the community. It was such an important job that it wasn't even considered as a job. Jonas then went to his room amid pulled out his packet go rules for his job. Jonas then realized that he didn't receive a packet but a paper with 7 rules. After he read the rules, Jonas was stunned. He thinks a lot about the rules and how he will be affected. He then wondered about one of the rules that was that he would receive answers from anyone. He wondered if he asked his dad about something he can't talk about, if he would tell him the truth. The only thing was, Jonas wouldn't know if he would tell him the truth.
