1955. Bomb craters are clearly visible. Brambles started to cover the trenches and bomb craters, but in the 1960s it was still possible to crawl into the spaces and explore. Much of the military remains have now been overgrown, especially in the cliffs. By the 1980s even places like the Pointe du Hoc were a mass of brambles before they were cleared as a historic monument.
